No Drafts, No Bugs

At Bergerson Windows, we know that energy is a topic that’s on everyone’s mind.  From global, to national to personal energy, we all want to do our part to conserve what we can for generations to come.  That’s why we’ve been doing a little brainstorming of our own.  We’ve come up with a way to do just that with our patent pending Draft-less Pulley.

The Draft-less Pulley seeks to rob an oft overlooked energy eater, air-infiltration.  You’ve probably heard the expression “old drafty windows.”  Well Bergerson Windows has come up with a way to bring appreciation back to your double hung windows.

As you may or may not know, Bergerson seeks to utilize the wisdom of past generations of builders and glaziers, with the improvements of today in our designs.  Well we think we found a way to improve upon the age old double hung window.

There are two main culprits of air infiltration in the design of the double hung.  The first is around the sash.  Which Bergerson can take care of with a new sash replacement or even new weatherstrip.  The second is less well known, through the pulley.

That’s where our pulley comes in.  The Draft-less Pulley seeks to eliminate the draft that enters through the pulley opening, which is a common place for a window to “breathe” in older homes.  And Also, extra bonus, as we eliminate draft, we kill two birds with one stone.  Or should we say two flies with one stone.  Another pesky home invader, the bug, is given one less entry point.

With different finish choices in  cover plates and screws, and a hidden body made from recycled UHMW.  The Draft-less Pulley is visually appealing while keeping it’s practical function.  Beauty and savings all in one package.
