Columbia River Coffee Roaster

Columbia River Coffee Roaster is stationed in the old Finnish Meat Market building, originally built in the 1920’s.  It’s located on 279 W. Marine Drive, in Astoria, Oregon, directly under the Astoria/Megler Bridge.

Jared Rickenbach of Rickenbach Construction in Astoria and their architect, Michelle Dieffenbach, called on Bergerson Windows to help return the storefront to its’ classic Uniontown look.  This job utilized our Douglas Fir option in its’ large picture windows (including bow top transoms), main entry door and french side doors.

If you are in the Astoria area please stop by and visit.  Have a look at the shop and buy a cup of coffee, or why not a bag of coffee to bring home.  My favorite is “Pacific Black Tail,” or the freak of nature “Tanzania Peaberry.”

Bergerson is proud to be a part of a project like this one.

The following is a review as found on Trip Advisor:

“One of the Best Coffee Houses in Town”

“As soon as you walk in your greeted by friendly baristas. The building is in a historic, recently renovated Finnish Meat Market a part of Astoria’s history. Huge windows in front let in natural lighting, lined with reclaimed wood as a counter and stools so you can look out at the river accross the street; comfy couches and a macrame type chair hangs from the rafters so you can sit in comfort and enjoy your favorite cup of joe. Glass case filled with fresh baked desserts, homemade soups and sandwiches to tempt your taste buds. A huge selection of teapots, espresso makers and french presses. And then of course, the coffee that is roasted right there on the premises. Being supporters of the arts the Coffee Roaster’s have hosted live music and a Reader’s Theater. I love to take people there I am never disappointed in service or the coffee, everyone loves it.”

Below are several links to articles on Columbia River Coffee Roaster and their new building.

Please note that in the article by Coast River Business Journal, Bergerson Construction of Astoria is listed as being responsible for the custom woodwork.  It should read Bergerson Windows, of Hammond.  Bergerson Construction is a company started by Chuck’s brother Daryl, specializing in marine construction.
